I’ve been farming Heroic Antorus in WoW for nearly 2 months now, and the remaining transmog items just refuse to drop. I’ve had of repeats from the mail set, but it’s the cloth set I want!
Notes
This was cross-posted from my own website to Bluesky using EchoFeed (https://echofeed.app/)
Moving my Bluesky data to a self hosted PDS has been almost entirely seamless and pain free. I’m actually impressed. The only thing that’s broken is cross-posting to Bluesky using Echofeed. Which is unfortunate, but something I can live with. I’ll figure out a fix or alternative when I have some time.
I’m looking at getting an ultra-wide monitor, as an upgrade to my aging 24". The head says a 34" is the sensible, practical choice, but the heart is saying to go full hog with a 49" model that would be wider than my desk…
le sigh
I see I’ve reached the “bloody hell, my hip really hurts for no discernible reason” stage of getting old
The local Xmas market is in the process of being set up, which means my normally super- convenient bus service is being diverted for the next 2 months. I got to experience the new route today and it feels like they’ve picked the most inaccessible changes possible — especially for the return route.
Hopefully I’ve got all my Echofeed cross-posting set up and working again 🤞🏻
That joyous moment you discover you have more vacation days still to take than you thought you did 🙌🏻
In slightly better news, I’ve just successfully soloed Mythic Antorus.
I’ve spent the last 2 days disassembling and/or moving large pieces of furniture. I’m feeling it today, but got at least a couple more days ahead and then some assembly.
I’m getting too old for this 😅
Besides, World of Warcraft is more than filling my gaming time right now. The War Within expansion is so good.
I went to go have a look at Space Marine 2, as my feeds are absolutely full of it at the moment. It looks fun, but not “£95 for the full game” fun (to me - you do you). I don’t have nostalgia for the original, so I’ll wait to pick it up during the next Warhammer Skulls event.
I completely missed the Apple event was happening (it’s been that busy). Just caught up and: shrug. My phone is 2 years old and I don’t need to update. Apple say they’ll give me £360 trade-in value towards a preorder, but maybe I’ll sit this one out.
For some reason I’m finding myself idly thinking about setting up a forum/bulletin board for a niche community. In 2024. I survived the Mod Life once, I’m not sure I can go back.
The War Within is probably the best told and most cohesive opening story for a new WoW expansion I can remember. But to have the main campaign deliberately not take you all the way to max level feels odd. I’ve finished it, yet still have over 3 levels I need to grind out.
Blizzard keep emailing to play The War Within early access, as if I haven’t spent all day playing it and getting to level 75…
Flocking like it’s 1995.

It turns out I’m ~10 beta versions behind on IndieKit releases. There’s even an Eleventy preset now 🙌🏻 I was planning to update my configuration soon anyway, but now it looks like I’ll be doing an upgrade too.
I’ve been getting a lot of “so-and-so has created their first post on Threads” notifications on Instagram lately, presumably as some X holdouts finally move on to other apps. With Threads not having full federation yet, it’s been enough to get me wondering if I should re-open an account there.
I can’t wait for all these sites and apps to be able to talk to each other fully, so I don’t have to think about creating new accounts any more.
iOS 18 Beta 3 has broken all the shortcuts I use for sharing to my site from my phone, and trying to fix them crashes the Shortcuts app 😑
Step 1: Add a new way to post short-form content to my site
Step 2: Connect it to EchoFeed
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Post!
It’s been about 3 months since I last fully painted something. I really need to get back to the painting desk and start making progress again. There was a period in there where I was managing to build models, even if I wasn’t painting them, but that’s also dried up in the last few weeks. Hopefully I can get back to my hobby desk soon™.
On the subject of phones: I’ve been finding myself thinking about a switch to Android over the last week or so. The handsets from Nothing and Fairphone have caught my attention lately.
I doubt it’s going to happen; I’d be the only person in my extended family to use Android, and I’m very deep into the ecosystem after 10+ years on iPhone. Those are big enough friction points alone. But the thought was there, which surprised me. Maybe it’s the idea of something “new”… iPhone/iOS has been feeling a bit stale after so long with very little really changing over that time.
I am a poem I am not software by Robin Rendle:
There’s a constant tug of war between wanting to be professional and wanting to be cool online. Sometimes those things overlap and sometimes they don’t.
This is the constant struggle in my head when it comes to this site.
