Loaded up Tweetdeck to the following error:

{"errors":[{"message":"Your current API plan does not include access to this endpoint, please see https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api for more information","code":467}]}

Which I understand is the same error as prevented people from posting images or links last night. Meanwhile, the guy who has cut all the people who would be handling these problems, and who apparently only had one Site Reliability Engineer working on the rollout of the API changes is complaining the codebase is “extremely brittle” and in need of a “complete rewrite”:

A tweet by Elon Musk, in reply to @pmarca. It reads "A small API change had massive ramifications. The code stack is extremely brittle for no good reason.

Will ultimately need a complete rewrite."

I really should get off of Twitter completely… but it’s still where the majority of the communities I interact with still have the most critical mass, so it’s hard to completely break free. As much as I enjoy Mastodon, it’s clearly not the long-term solution and has enough barriers to prevent mass migration or people sticking with it once they sign-up. Instead it feels like most of us are just half-heartedly sticking with Twitter, waiting for the day it just stops working and never comes back.
